There Is Such a Thing as Ranking a Studio

Hello fellow yogis πŸ™‚

As you all know, yoga is a very important part of my life. I created this yoga blog to share with others my love for it, and share my experience with others. Looking back to my second post, I named a few studios in south Jersey that I thought would be worthy to visit and possibly take a class. Over the semester, I took the opportunity to visit all but one.

In my evaluations and personal experiences, I realized each studio had something different to offer. For my final project, I wanted to map out each studio for you. Posted within this story, is a interactive google map, where you can actually see where each studio is located! I wanted to give readers a chance to actually view the locations in south Jersey, and see how far these studios are from your hometowns.

On the map are the four studios I mentioned in my second post, including Yoga Inspired Studio in Pitman, Bikram Yoga in Voorhees, Experience Yoga Studio in Turnersville, and the Yoga Center of Haddonfield. When you click over a marked location on the map, the studios name will appear, and you will see the studios website included on the pop-up.

The purpose of including the studios address on the map was to make it easier for readers to simply click on the website and explore what they have to offer. Also, another reason I wanted to map out the different studios was to give readers insight on what the ratings are!

Using rating websites for different interests such as restaurants, department stores, concert venues, (and yoga studios!) has become very popular online. Before people try something new, or go somewhere new, people have a habit of looking it up before attending. Living in this social media society, we have this amazing ability to check before we go, and see if we will like it. I think it’s a great tool to use, and can really make a difference for whatever it is you are searching for.

So for my readers, I realized that many people rate yoga studios on the website, which is an online rating website. You can rank different places with stars, and leave positive/negative comments whenever you want! This website is crucial for many businesses, because they know there is so much traffic going by, and people do actually read and make decisions based on the publics remarks!

Although I have never left a comment on β€œYelp” before, I thought it would be interested to see what people had to say about these amazing studios. I want this to come in handy for those of you that are interested in practicing yoga at a new location.

Here are the ratings for the different studios:

Experience Yoga (Turnersville), Yoga Center (Haddonfield), Bikram Yoga (Voorhees), and Yoga Inspired (Pitman)

I hope this helps you pick the best one to visit. Make sure you pick the best one for YOU, and your needs. The most important thing we sometimes forget is that we need to put ourselves first. If you love yourself, you will love others, and life will be that much sweeter. Namaste

Farewell Yogis

Good evening,

As the end of the semester comes to a close, I wanted to let everyone know that I really enjoyed blogging about my favorite hobbies in the world. Yoga has been a part of my life for years, and continuing my practice and learning about it was what this blog was all about. I loved visiting all the studios here in south Jersey, and exploring new types of yoga as well.

After this semester, I will not continue to blog about yoga in south Jersey, because I will be moving up to north Jersey! I had a great experience doing this for my journalism class, and as a PR major, I can say it was quite a challenge. It was something new to tackle for my last semester in college, and I am so glad I did it.

I encourage all of you to continue practicing yoga, and embrace the upcoming summer season to motivate you and take care of your body! Yoga really is for everyone if you work at it.

Maybe one day in the future I will take the time and make a new blog, who knows! I hope you enjoyed reading The Lotus Journal!

As always,

Namaste πŸ™‚

An Evening with Caroline Myss

Hey there yogs!

Happy Sunday!! We are lucky to have another gorgeous day this weekend. I hope you all had a chance to spend some time outside and got some fresh air πŸ™‚

This weekend, I was fortunate enough to attend the Yoga Journal Live! yoga convention in NYC. And in a nutshell, it was such a great experience!! As part of my agenda on Friday, I wanted to get a chance to see Caroline Myss, who is a New York Times Best Seller and and internationally renowned speaker that touches on human consciousness, spirituality, health, and energy medicine to name a few.

She had a special event from 7:30-10:00pm Friday evening, and I got a ticket in! She was a great speaker, and host to all of the yogis in the crowd. You could really feel the energy and positive atmosphere in the room as she stood on stage.

Here is glimpse of some of the things Caroline spoke about. Enjoy!

Tranquility Yoga Class at Yoga Inspired Studios in Pitman, NJ with Angela Villone

Hello fellow yogis!!!

I decided to share with you a live blog of a yoga class I went to earlier in Pitman, NJ! It was at Yoga Inspired studios, right on Main Street. They offer classes Monday through Sunday, including “Monday Morning Vinyasa” and a class I took today that was called “Tranquility Yoga.” Angela Villone was our instructor today, and she was amazing! It was my first time at the studio, and I can definitely recommend this studio to anyone in the area!

Bobbi Johnson Describes her Journey to Becoming an Instructor at Experince Yoga in Turnersville, NJ

When I started my search for the next yoga studio to visit in south Jersey, I stumbled upon “Experience Yoga” in Turnersville, NJ. The website was appealing, and offered a variety of classes from yoga, to pilates, and even cycling! I signed up for a basic yoga class with Bobbi Johnson, who is a certified instructor at the studio. Having the privilege to speak with her, I also saw the beautiful studio with modern decor and welcoming ambiance. She was such a sweet woman, with a lot of yoga insight. I recommend her classes to anyone looking for a new studio/instructor!

Tunes for the Mind

Good evening yogis!

This week has been a bit challenging, coming back from spring break. Despite all of the studying and work we had to get back to, I made time (mostly evenings) to find my inner peace and do yoga in my apartment.

My roommate and I were discussing what playlist we should use, because the one we have been using is becoming a bit redundant. So I was on a quest to find a new yoga playlist that would be fresh and new.

Some of the free playlists that I found were worth a listen were, andΒ

Both of these sites are very useful, and have different types of music for every ear. I personally enjoy more of a fast paced rhythm, but to each is own! I hope this helps your search for a fun new routine that you can really vibe to. After all, music really helps the mind and body connect.

Have a wonderful week! Namaste.

New Yoga Studio in East Brunswick!

Hey yogis!

Since I will be home for spring break this week, I wanted to share with you a new studio I found that opened here in my hometown of East Brunswick (so excited!)

The name of the studio is called New Yoga City, and is located right on Route 18! For all of those who live in the central Jersey area/ Middlesex county, you should check it out! I know I will be going this week while on break.

Be kind to your body,

Yoga Around The World

Beginner, Advanced, and All in Between

Good evening fellow yogis!

I hope you enjoyed your weekend, relaxing and all before this snow storm (!!!) During this hectic work week, I took some time to look yoga events in our general area. Many people have been posting stuff on twitter about local yoga events, but I thought it might be interesting to see if there was a more regional kind. In my research, I discovered a yoga convention in NYC that is next month!!

Yoga Journal LIVE! is one of the worlds most recognized yoga organization that educates yoga practitioners of all levels. They are holding multiple conferences around the country and stopping in NYC on April 24-28th! Anyone who is interested in attending can register as soon as possible.

The convention is closer than we think, only 52 days away!! To find out more deets on the New York convention, check out Yoga Journal LIVE! website.

I hope this gets you excited as you continue your journey to becoming more flexible and finding your inner peace!
